We are two days away from the 2021 NFL Draft, which means we will have two more days of wild rumors. One of the biggest rumors flying around right now is that the Pittsburgh Steelers have former Florida Gators quarterback Kyle Trask ranked as a top-five quarterback, according to Andrew Fillipponi of 93.7 The Fan.

That means that the Steelers have Trask ranked over one of the following quarterbacks: Trevor Lawrence, Zach Wilson, Justin Fields, Trey Lance, and Mac Jones. Pittsburgh would be pretty crazy to have Trask ranked over Lawrence, Wilson, Fields, or Lance, leaving Jones as the likely candidate.

We have talked about whether Trask is better than Jones before, so it makes sense if the Steelers would have those same discussions. Trask has been an exciting name all draft season, with one of the more significant reports that the New Orleans Saints want Trask to replace retired Hall of Fame quarterback Drew Brees.

Trask has obviously done the right things during this draft process because he seems like a player that has been shooting up draft boards. He started the draft season as a likely Day 2 pick, but it looks like Trask will find his way into the first round of the draft on Thursday night.

The Steelers were not one of our three best fits for Trask, but Pittsburgh would make a ton of sense if we did a five best fits. Trask has some similarities to Ben Roethlisberger, so adding him to sit a year behind Big Ben would be ideal. Trask could learn from a future Hall of Fame quarterback and then be able to have time to grow as a player in Pittsburgh.

The Steelers have run an excellent organization for years, and head coach Mike Tomlin would be a great coach for Trask. Obviously this is also lying season as we are days away from the draft, but Trask does seem like a great fit for Pittsburgh. So, if the question is, will the Steelers draft Trask? The answer may be yes, and Pittsburgh may find their future signal-caller later in the first round.
