Former Florida Gators quarterback Kyle Trask has had an interesting draft season. Trask has gone from a potential first-round pick to a potential late day 2 player. A big part of that was the last collegiate game he played in, which was a blowout loss to Oklahoma in the Cotton Bowl.

Trask threw three interceptions and looked terrible. However, if you take that game out, do the evaluation as an outlier, Trask has shown that he can throw the ball well. He can make accurate throws and make smart decisions.

Trask ended his 2020 season with 4,238 passing yards and 43 touchdowns.

He only threw eight interceptions last season, so you can see that his three-interception game was an anomaly for him. A big part of Trask’s success can be credited to head coach Dan Mullen, though. I think Mullen’s presence has been a reason why Trask has fallen down some draft boards.

I also think Trask is not ready to become a starter in Year 1, but if he can get in the right situation, who knows just how good he can be in the NFL. With that in mind, here are the three best fits for Trask in the 2021 NFL Draft.

Which three teams are the best fir for Kyle Trask?

3. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers would be a great fit for Trask. He would not need to play in Year 1, and likely not in Year 2 because Tom Brady is still winning Super Bowls. However, he could sit behind Brady and learn from him. That would be huge for Trask, and then he can take over once Brady finally stops picking on the NFL and retires.

2. New England Patriots

It felt weird to bring up Brady and not talk about the Patriots, but luckily I love Trask’s fit with New England as well. Josh McDaniels is one of the best offensive coordinators in the NFL, and he could really help Trask progress into a starter in the NFL. Cam Newton will start in 2021, so Trask could have a year to sit behind Newton and then take over in 2022. The Patriots will have a dominant 12 personnel for a few years, too, so that would be an excellent spot for Trask to land.

1. New Orleans Saints

There was talk that Trask could be the Saints’ guy to replace Drew Brees. It could be a fake rumor, but I think it makes a ton of sense. Just like McDaniels for the Patriots, head coach Sean Payton could get the most out of Trask. I would love to see just how good Payton could make Trask. I think if Trask is going to have the best chance at a successful NFL career, New Orleans is the place for him.
