Former Florida Gators quarterback Kyle Trask has not been a hot name this draft season. A large part of that was his last collegiate game was a disaster. Trask threw three interceptions and looked like a true freshman instead of a Heisman finalist.

However, something has changed in the media circles, and Trask has become one of the hottest names out there. The most recent rumor regarding Trask was from NBC Sports’ Peter King.

In his most recent column, King said the following, “I think I’m starting to think Kyle Trask, the Florida quarterback, has a good chance to be the sixth first-round quarterback. Starting to think.

We have already talked about the idea of Trask potentially going in the first round, but I did not think he would. I believe Trask’s best fit is as a backup quarterback in the NFL, but after the news that the New Orleans Saints may want Trask to replace Drew Brees, I have come around to the idea that he can become a starter in the NFL.

I believe Trask needs to be drafted by the right team, and a few teams make a ton of sense to me. Seeing King say this holds a lot of weight in my eyes, mainly because King is one of the best reporters in the NFL.

You also have to think about the quarterback market in the 2021 NFL Draft. It is a lock that the quarterbacks will go pick 1, pick 2, and pick 3. Then there are rumors that another one will go pick 4, and if that happens, it makes a ton of sense for Trask to be one of the next quarterbacks taken.

I think five quarterbacks will go in the first round, but Trask would be the sixth guy in my eyes. And if the first five go early, Trask will likely need to be over-drafted for a team that is still looking for a quarterback.

Regardless of what happens, this is big news for Trask. He has become a hot name, and at the right time, as we are only 17 days away from the 2021 NFL Draft.
