One of my favorite weeks of football is here, and although players aren’t strapping on helmets and pads, I can honestly say draft week is right behind Week 1 kickoff and Super Bowl week in terms of excitement. The draft experts are putting their finishing touches on their final mock draft and Florida football fans are wondering where their former Gators will get drafted.

Teams are preparing their war rooms and finalizing their draft boards. Players are getting fitted for their suits, trying to look their best for the camera. The fans hope their team takes the player they want and is thinking about how their team’s draft can turn their team into a powerhouse.

There is nothing quite like the week leading up to the draft as well. Trade rumors are flying around the league, and smokescreens are being created right up until Roger Goodell walks on stage and announces the first team is on the clock.

There are many former Florida Gators that will hear their name called this weekend. Most notably, Kyle Pitts, who I and many others think is the No. 1 player in the 2021 NFL Draft. Also, quarterback prospect, Kyle Trask and wide receiver Kadarius Toney should hear their names called Thursday night in the first round or Friday night in the second or third round.

The transition from college to the NFL can be challenging for some players. It may take a player 2-3 years to finally start hitting their potential after getting drafted. It is an easier transition for some players because they have the talent and coaching around them to make it easier on them.

I will give you the three landing spots that Pitts, Kyle Trask, and Kadarius Toney can succeed the most.
