As the season fast approaches for Florida football, we are continuing our series of the freshmen on campus and what the odds are they appear this season with the Gators. If you follow recruiting, these will be household names. But if not, these can be a good refresher to catch you up to speed.

We have previously profiled:

Today we are looking at one of the more intriguing and under-the-radar prospects for the Gators, Jaden Robinson.

Florida Football: Mama said knock you out

Robinson was a lower-rated four-star prospect by 247 and Rivals, while On3 and ESPN viewed him as a three-star.

Currently listed at 6’0″ and 234 pounds, Robinson is already the second-biggest middle linebacker on the Gators’ roster.

In high school, Robinson used that size to good use. In a continued theme we have seen with the class of 2023, Robinson isn’t afraid to hit you and to hit you hard.

There are multiple times in his senior year film that he could have opted for a basic wrap-up, but Robinson wants you to regret stepping on the field with him instead.

As a result, Robinson was a master at generating chaos and had multiple forced fumbles to his credit.

He’s not just a hard-hitting middle linebacker, though. Throughout his film, he shows an ability to drop back in zone coverage and come away with multiple pick-sixes, and when needed, he has the ability to read the gaps on a running play and fill them as needed.

Odds of redshirting: Medium to high

We haven’t seen Robinson’s name pop up at all during camp. Even the website OurLads.Com, which does mock projections of depth charts, doesn’t even list his name.

As we have mentioned with a couple of other freshmen, it doesn’t mean that Robinson is having a bad camp; it just means that right now, he isn’t viewed as a starter heading into the season.

And if you think about it, Shemar James and Terjada Mitchell will probably be the two starting middle linebackers for Florida. After that, it’s a battle with Derek Wingo, Mannie Nunnery, Scooby Williams, and Deuce Spurlock to get into the two-deep rotation.

Robinson might be a candidate for special teams, and just keep his name in mind if you see someone deliver a massive hit and wonder, “Who is that guy?”

It might just be Jaden Robinson.

Next. Kamran James will do work off the edge. dark
