2. Florida’s new and improved offense

I know what some people are thinking, and I’ll explain. How can Florida have an improved offense after losing the No. 1 player in the 2021 NFL Draft, Kyle Pitts, top 20 pick wide receiver Kadarius Toney, and Heisman finalist quarterback Kyle Trask?

It makes sense to think about that, and when you write it down, I understand the concerns. However, the people worried about all that clearly don’t understand that 2020 was not how Mullen likes to run his offense.

Mullen said, and always says, he will tailor the offense to the players, which he did. Florida threw the ball all over the field, and it was impressive to watch.

That just isn’t what Mullen loves to do, and that is why Florida’s offense will be even better in 2021

Mullen thrives when he has a quarterback that can run, and Jones may be the best running quarterback he’s ever had. The Gators will find a better balance in 2021, and that balance will go a long way.

They may not have the eye-opening passing stats they had last year, but their rushing attack should be one of the best and most efficient in college football.

Jones will have a monster year, and fans should expect him to thrive under Mullen. Even Mullen thinks Jones is ready to succeed.

The running backs should thrive as well, with former five-star and Clemson transfer Demarckus Bowman leading the way. Bowman is cleared to play in 2021, and he should become a household name.

Former five-star and Penn State transfer Justin Shorter and former four-star recruit Jacob Copeland will lead the Gators’ receivers. Tight end Kemore Gamble has the tough task of replacing Pitts, but he is a solid player and should do just fine.

This Gators offense will be a big reason they win the SEC East.
