Another week and another top prospect is ready to be a Florida Gator.
Four-star wide receiver Anthony Jennings said earlier this month that Florida was going to be the team to beat in his recruitment and that proved to be the case when the speedy in-state prospect committed to the Gators. He becomes the eighth member of the 2027 recruiting class and continues a hot recruiting run that Jon Sumrall has been on since the beginning of the month.

Jennings seemed to be visiting everywhere this spring and even went to Syracuse last weekend to watch the Orange's spring game. But throughout the busy rush, Jennings could only talk about another school with orange in their colors — the Florida Gators. Other schools involved include Maryland, Syracuse, FSU and Georgia.
Gators stay hot on the trail with a pledge from 4-star WR Anthony Jennings
As has been the case with most of the recruits since Sumrall took over, Jennings was impressed by the energy of the staff and also enjoyed a previous connection with wide receivers coach Marcus Davis when Davis was recruiting him at Auburn.
"I was already in love with Florida when I first came here," Jennings said to 247Sports' Tyler Harden during a visit in February. "Auburn was a bit of a plane ride, so family can come here, so it's just great having him here now."
These days it would be surprising for a top prospect to not be into what Sumrall and staff are doing in Gainesville right now. The Gators' class is quickly climbing up the rankings and the addition of Jennings should move this group into the top 10.
The floodgates opened a little over two weeks ago when five-star offensive lineman Maxwell Hiller made his commitment to Florida. With the top-rated interior offensive lineman and top-10 national prospect in the fold, everyone seemed to take notice. Hiller's pledge led to four-star, in-state Davin Davidson and four-star Aamaury Fountain joining the class by the end of the week.
With this much recruiting momentum behind Sumrall, it's safe to say that the Gators will be a major threat for any top prospect that they decide to pursue.
