Easton Royal flipped to the Florida Gators last week after being committed to the Texas Longhorns for nearly a year - and when the Gators took down Texas on Saturday, the five-star wide receiver couldn't help but twist the knife a little further.
Royal, who has never been shy about his usage of social media, didn't need to say much in the post on his X account, the graphic said it all. It's pretty safe to assume that Steve Sarkisian and Texas fans aren't going to love seeing this, but who cares?

If you were worried about Royal's commitment to the Gators after several months of wavering with his previous pledge, I think he's trying to let the Florida fans know that he's solid and that nothing is going to be changing his mind moving forward.
5-star commit Easton Royal shows support for Florida after huge win over Texas
Naturally, Longhorn fans are a little bent over this, and that's not a surprise at all. It's bad enough they've watched their fraud of a team lose to unranked opponents in consecutive weeks. Arch Manning looks lost and Sarkisian is a coach that will never win anything important. He's basically Mack Brown without Vince Young, important wins, a championship ring, or an engaging personality.
That alone should make Texas fans livid, but imagine their prized recruit flipping to an SEC peer and openly showing support for that new school. Royal should be happy the Gators won. He is buying in on Jon Sumrall's vision, and in Week 7 he saw what that vision was about. Florida was left for dead after a couple of bad losses, but it decided to flip the script. Now, the Gators are 5-2, and will likely be back in the AP Top 25 poll heading into a showdown with Georgia on Halloween.
Why shouldn't Royal be excited about that? He's starting to realize that flipping to the Gators from the Longhorns was absolutely the right decision.
Florida's 2027 recruiting class is back in the Top 10
The Royal commitment pushed the Gators' class to No. 5 overall on Rivals/On3 and No. 8 overall on 247Sports. Both networks have Royal and offensive lineman Maxwell Hiller as five-star recruits.
Sumrall has established himself as a force to be reckoned with on the recruiting trail. When Sumrall arrived in Gainesville, he promised immediate results on the field and in recruiting. Although there have been a few expected stumbles on the field, Sumrall has delivered as a recruiter. The Royal commitment is as big of a power move as any during this college football cycle.
The first class is going to be a good one and Sumrall's challenge is to follow up that haul with an equally good crop of players. There is a lot of in-state depth in the 2028 class, and it's a chance for Sumrall to re-establish some pipelines for Florida. Beating top-10 teams on the road and getting five-star recruits to flip is a heck of a start.
