Dallas Wilson is out of the boot, and it seems like the superstar sophomore wide receiver is continuing his gradual progression to full health.

Jon Sumrall made it clear that he was going to take things slow with Wilson to make sure the foot injury he's been dealing with since last summer healed fully. It's likely that Wilson isn't going to do much in the way of practicing this spring and up to this point he had been occasionally doing some light work separate from the regular practices.

Wilson is expected to ramp things up over the next few months and be ready for fall camp. His progression during the late spring and summer will be something that's monitored closely. For the few times that the former five-star prospect from Tampa was healthy, he showed exactly why the Gators were so excited to have him in the program.

Dallas Wilson is spotted at spring camp without walking boot

Wilson dominated the spring last year and set records in the spring game. He suffered a lower-body injury during the preseason training camp and missed the first four games of the season. Wilson returned against Texas and had a sterling debut with six catches for 111 yards and two touchdowns. He injured his foot in the first half against Georgia and was ruled out for the rest of the season after appearing in just four games.

Despite not being able to watch him take any live reps this spring, Sumrall has repeatedly put over Wilson's work ethic and engagement with the team. The coach has also complimented the player on his love of the program and understanding of the plan to get him back to full health.

With Wilson unavailable, it has given other players in the wide receiver room a chance to emerge as potential options for Buster Faulkner's offense. If things go as planned, Wilson, Vernell Brown III and Eric Singleton, a transfer from Auburn, will be the starters, but there is some promising depth behind them. Sophomore TJ Abrams showed flashes last season and transfers Bailey Stockton (Georgia Tech) and Micah Mays Jr. (Wake Forest) will also be in the mix.
