Jon Sumrall has an injury update on Dallas Wilson and Gator fans can breathe easy now.
The former five-star wide receiver was held out of practice today and, from the sound of it, Wilson will be slowly integrated into work this spring to make sure his lingering foot injury is fully healed. Wilson dealt with ithe issue for most of his freshman season, which forced him to miss a lot of time. Sumrall said that they will be very careful with Wilson this spring.
“I’m going to give you the injury report, I know you maybe aren’t used to that but that’s what I want to do”

"Dallas Wilson is being held out for an abundance of caution....the foot issue from last year," Sumrall said.
Sumrall added that he conferred with Paul Silvestri, the Senior Director of Sports Health and Performance, and the team doctors that said if it was a game week, Wilson would be able to play, but considering it's the first day of spring practice, there was no need to risk it.
Dallas Wilson will be brought along with caution this spring
When healthy, Wilson is the most explosive player in the Gators offense and has the potential to be one of the best in the nation. His sample sizes are last spring, when he caught everything during the spring game and looked like the next great freshman All-America and his season debut against Texas, when he hauled six passes for 111 yards and two touchdowns in the Gators' upset win over Texas.

Imagine having at least 12 games of that this season? That's what Sumrall wants and if it means going easy on him early in the spring and letting him get healthy to ramp it up later, that's what will be done.
"I've had guys that have had similar issues and I want to make sure we're doing everything we can for him to get extremely healed. Like 100 percent and be 'right right' not 'kinda right'," Sumrall said. "So, if we had a game this week, if we're playing a game, he's practicing. But I've got a pretty good pulse of what's he's about and what kind of player he is, so we're going to be smart and tough there, not dumb tough."
Smart and tough. That's what Sumrall wants Gators football to be all about.
