It is no surprise who the top 5 quarterbacks are in the draft. As of draft day, the top 3 picks are pretty much solidified, with Trevor Lawrence, Zach Wilson, and Mac Jones going at the top of the draft in that order. The 49ers with the 3rd pick are rumored to be torn as Head Coach Kyle Shanahan is reportedly in love with Mac Jones, and the front office is enthralled with Justin Fields. Along with the 4 previously mentioned quarterbacks, Trey Lance can see his name called in the top 5-15. After the top 5 quarterbacks are gone, the next crop of young gun-slingers taken should include former Florida Gators quarterback Kyle Trask.

I believe Trask will fall anywhere from pick No. 20 in the first round to pick No. 60 in the 2nd round. I don’t think the Bears at pick No. 20 will take Trask that high up. I can see them trading back in the first round and picking up an extra second-rounder to take Trask. The Bears need a quarterback of the future with Andy Dalton under center this year, and Trask can learn behind him and take over.

The next scenario I see happening is the Tampa Bay Buccaneers taking Trask with the No. 32 pick at the end of the first round. Tom Brady is not playing forever, even though it feels like that sometimes. Tampa Bay has all of their starters returning from their Super Bowl-winning team and do not have many holes to fill. Drafting a quarterback to eventually take over for Brady and learn behind him would be a smart move for Tampa Bay.

The last scenario I can envision playing out, and the one I would put my money on, is the New England Patriots selecting Trask at pick No. 46 if they cannot trade up in the first round to pick one of the projected top-5 quarterbacks in the first round. New England has a lot of draft capital to work with, but they also have many holes. I see them staying put in the first round and taking Trask to learn behind Cam Newton for a year. If I was a betting man, I would look to put my money on Trask at pick No. 46 to New England and learn under the greatest coach of all time.
