The Florida Gators have one of the best home-field advantages in college football. There is nothing like Ben Hill Griffin Stadium on a Saturday. Florida football fans are passionate, and it gives the Gators an advantage when playing at home because of it. However, because of COVID-19, Florida lost that competitive advantage in 2020.

They did have some fans at the games, but the stadium was not filled with 88,548 fans. Head Coach Dan Mullen was under a lot of heat last season when he said the Gators fans should “pack The Swamp” last season. He made many people angry with his comments because of the current global pandemic, but Mullen was just voicing his opinion on wishing the stadium was filled.

Well, Mullen may get his wish in 2021 because according to Sara Cardona of CBS4 News Gainesville, Florida athletic director Scott Stricklin “is anticipating on having full capacity at Gator sporting events this fall.” There is no doubt about how Mullen feels, as showed his support with a tweet:

This is excellent news for the Gators, who will be gearing up to try and take their team to the next level. Florida has been a really good football team the last few years, but they haven’t been able to be great. They will have to try their best to regroup on offense after losing key players Kyle Pitts, Kyle Trask, Kadarius ToneyStone Forsythe, and Trevon Grimes.

However, even with the loss of some crucial pieces, Florida fans should not worry about their offense. The big question mark will be the defense, which is reportedly looking improved. The Gators added new secondary coaches, and they also added Tyson Summers as a defensive analyst for this season.

It will be interesting to see how good the Gators can be in 2021, as there is a lot of uncertainty with their roster. They will need many factors to work out and come together, but it seems that one of them has already worked out. The Gators will have their home-field advantage back, as the Gators will “Pack The Swamp” in 2021.
