Training camp keeps moving along for the Florida Gators, and their first formal scrimmage is about to take place this weekend. More than likely, the biggest theme for the Gators is going to be emerging from Saturday healthy and making sure no one else gets hurt.

But given that training camp in college tends to be behind closed doors when compared to the NFL, these are three burning questions we here at Hail Florida Hail have regarding the state of the Gators heading into this weekend.

How aware is Billy Napier of the narratives surrounding the program?

During their feature episode on Netflix, we heard Billy Napier talk about learning to ignore the outside noise. It's something he also touched on during press conferences this offseason.

But Napier also has a way of letting noise build before seemingly giving direct, yet unspoken, answers to that noise.

In the latest example, Florida has had a bevy of wide receivers wind up in no-contact jerseys. This led to a ton of noise online, and even though all the injuries are considered "minor," it raised eyebrows with the sheer number of guys going down.

Napier then had three of those receivers (Eugene Wilson, Aidan Mizell, and Kahleil Jackson) appear in a normal jersey during the open media portion of their practice earlier this week.

However, as noted by the media members in attendance, none of those guys actually participated during that viewing window.

So are they healthy? Are they not? Were they taking an extended warmup and participated later? Was it all for show to quiet the noise?

For the record, all reports have indicated that they all should be able to go for the opener against LIU, and for all we know, all these guys might show up in the scrimmage on Saturday.

Who is actually going to be the backup QB?

Most would have assumed that when Harrison Bailey transferred in from Louisville, he would slide in as the backup quarterback to DJ Lagway.

But then in the spring game, it was Aidan Warner who got to work with the first team while Bailey was with the second. And every time the topic of the backup QB comes up, it doesn't seem like Bailey is taking the reins from Warner.

Nick De La Torre of Florida Victorius had previously noted that last Saturday, when Lagway came back from his calf issue, Warner was throwing with the second team while Bailey was with the third.

We'll see who Napier chooses to highlight after the scrimmages, because when guys like Jayden Woods have their name dropped constantly by the coaching staff this time of year, it's intentional.

Is there a surprise odd man out at EDGE?

Speaking of Jayden Woods, it's not an accident that almost every Florida Gator site (including ours) ran a piece on him within the last week. He was included on The Athletic's "Freaks" list, and the coaching staff has had nothing but gushing things to say about Woods.

But when one looks at the state of the players at EDGE, someone is going to get left out if Woods is actually going to get included in the main rotation.

Tyreak Sapp, George Gumbs, LJ McCray, and Kamran James are Florida's main rotation on paper, and it gets tough to give meaningful snaps once you go three deep.

So it's worth keeping track of who Napier mentions by name this weekend within this group.
