The Gators are back to 23 commits for the class of 2027 after picking up linebacker Robert “Tre” Geathers on Thursday. He is a higher-rated three-star who has the ability to fill a number of roles on the defensive side.
As a whole, there are not too many moving pieces left to get answers on. Florida is seemingly in a good position for two more players looming out there, while there are a couple of other targets who probably will head elsewhere.
These are the known players still on Florida’s radar for the class of 2027.
Class of 2027 players Florida is still keeping an eye on
Antonio Berry
In May, it seemed like maybe Florida had some momentum for Berry, but then Florida picked up the commitment of Kennedee Jackson as their 4th offensive lineman and Berry kind of fell off the radar.
Of course, Jackson flipped to Georgia 11 days later, but it does not appear as if the Gators are going to be able to cycle back and get Berry.
Jalen Brewster
The five-star defensive lineman did make an official visit and looked like he was having a great time on social media. At this point, Florida fans are in a wait-and-see mode as the Gators need to convince Brewster to flip from his Texas Tech commitment.
Raheem Floyd
The Gators have made a ton of progress for the East St. Louis native and seem to be in a position to land him. Predictions have started to roll in from recruiting services, and Florida has seemingly changed the momentum that Missouri had for him.
As we chronicled last week, Floyd is an extremely physical cornerback who should fit in well with Jon Sumrall.
Eric McFarland
Florida was included in the wide receiver’s top three, but almost none of the public reporting has seemed to indicate the Gators are actually in the running, as everyone seems to assume he is Texas A&M-bound.
Easton Royal
The other wildcard that Gators fans are probably most interested in: Royal took his visit alongside Brewster, and it was great. But also like Brewster, the Gators have massive competition to try and get him to flip.
As an interesting subplot, Royal took his official visit to Texas this weekend, whereas LSU thought they might have generated enough momentum to stop that visit, as they feel they are in a great spot to pull off the flip.
Kamauri Whitfield
The cornerback from Orlando has seemingly been earmarked for Florida ever since he decommitted from Tennessee back in February.
Whitfield has a commitment date set for July 6, and Florida is far and away the frontrunner to land him.
