It sure wasn't easy, but the Florida football team was able to come away with a 23-21 win over Mississippi State at home on Saturday. Yay? While a victory was posted, there still isn't much excitement surrounding the program.
Even after the win, Florida fans were spotted booing Billy Napier and 'fire Billy' chants even broke out in the middle of the action. For a little while now, there's been plenty of speculation that Napier is going to be fired soon, which the Gators faithful have been calling for.

After the final whistle and while speaking to the media, Napier had a smile on his face and he was of course asked about his future with the program. While Napier said he's excited for his guys to get a week off for some needed rest, he also delivered some comments that made it seem like he knows that he could be on his way out:
Billy Napier: "I'm going to enjoy this one tonight. We'll worry about tomorrow in the morning."

Billy Napier sure sounds like someone who knows he may be out of a job soon
The 'we'll worry about tomorrow in the morning' part sure is telling there. If anything, the speculation is only growing that Sunday could prove to be a big day for the program and Napier. You hate to see someone get fired, but Napier isn't getting the job done for the Gators.
Entering the campaign, all signs pointed to Florida making serious noise and pushing for a trip to the College Football Playoff. DJ Lagway, a 5-star signee, was all set to take a big step in his development under Napier's guidance, right?
Instead, Florida has limped its way to a 3-4 record and no one is feeling great about the state of the program despite posting an SEC win over the Bulldogs. Soon enough, we'll see if Florida decides to make a change or not with the BYE week officially here.
At this point, though, Florida supporters everywhere shouldn't be shocked if AD Scott Stricklin decides enough is enough and he pulls the plug on things on Sunday morning. It just feels like the tough but needed call needs to be made.
