If Florida Gator fans didn't already dislike Kevin Schnall for all the grandstanding he did during the Conway (South Carolina) Regional last year, wait until they see him regularly on the SEC schedule.
Schnall, who led Coastal Carolina to the championship series in the Men's College World Series last year and who complained like a baby at the Tallahassee Regional this year, is expected to become the next baseball coach at South Carolina. The Gamecocks could be buying stock in Schnall at a low point, given that the Chanticleers' win total dropped from 56 to 37 in a season.
Remember when Kevin Schnall tried to puff out his chest on Florida?
The Conway Regional last year was a mess and Kevin O'Sullivan, who isn't always the most pleasant to begin with if we're being honest here, was not happy about a schedule change, and he let everyone know how he felt, using quite a few words that were not suitable for print. He was reprimanded by Scott Stricklin and forced to apologize, which he did the following day, but Schnall, seeing a chance to do some premium bootlicking, had to add in his two cents.
“Another coach disrespected our associate AD, who works as hard as anybody in our entire program. He disrespected our field crew, who are the salt of the earth. These guys would do anything for our program. It’s not OK. This needs to be brought up. Absolutely disrespectful, "Schnall said. "This is a national champion coach who thinks he can come in here and try to bully people around."
O'Sullivan was eventually suspended three games over his outburst and also took a leave of absence from October through the middle of December because he needed to turn it down a few notches.
Kevin Schnall had the chance to be a stand-up guy and failed
The shoe was on the other foot this year in the Tallahassee Regional when Coastal Carolina was the victim of a schedule pushback due to bad weather and games running longer than usual...the stuff that normally happens with MCWS regionals in the southeast. Would Schnall understand these mishaps? Would he try to show O'Sullivan that he could be the bigger man in this situation? Let's see:
“We talk a lot about student-athlete wellness. We were eating dinner at three in the morning, we showed up here at 11:30. Again, this is part of hosting a regional. That's the value of hosting a regional. You go in a rain delay and if you're the home team, you shower, you clean your uniform. Can you imagine the way our guys felt in that uniform? Wet, sweaty," Schnall said.
Same guy who called out Sully for complaining last year. Now he gets to run his mouth at officials. Couldn’t be more hypocritical

"Not comfortable, itchy. How many times can we go down, get back up, go down, get back up? And it got to the point where we said enough is enough," he continued. "I mean you can only eat so many wraps. It was mismanaged, but that's all I'm going to say about that. Utterly mismanaged.”
Yeah, life is funny, isn't it? Welcome to the SEC, Kevin Schnall. I'm sure you'll be really popular around here.
