Defensive lineman Stephon Shivers was arrested two weeks ago on a third-degree felony charge for false imprisonment. On Florida's official roster online, Shivers has been removed, and Swamp247 has confirmed that Shivers is no longer a member of the team.

Shivers was arrested after The Gainesville Sun first reported that he was accused of choking and hitting the alleged victim and followed that up with blocking a doorway to prevent the victim from leaving.

At the time of his arrest, it was noted that the alleged victim had wounds and lacerations.

If Shivers is convicted, the maximum penalty is up to five years in prision and/or a $5,000 fine.

Shivers met with a judge who did allow him to still attend classes and practice with Florida, but Billy Napier has apparently decided to move on and remove Shivers from the team.

Stephon Shivers flipped in November to Florida

More likely than not, Shivers was going to have a pathway to play in 2025, given the lack of depth at defensive tackle. Listed at 6'4" and 380 pounds, Shivers flipped from Georgia to Florida back in November.

While most recruiting sites had him as a three-star, we noted at the time of this flip that he was a big man who could move.

At the time of his flip, we said:

"On film, the size of Shivers pops out and it looks like he is a literal man playing against children. Despite his size, what stands out even more is his ability to move. In a viral clip from last season with Brentwood Academy, Shivers was inserted as a running back and galloped straight up the gut for a long touchdown. In his actual position, Shivers also explodes into the backfield far faster than one would expect a 380-pounder to do."
