Florida's strongest unit surprisingly left off PFF's top ten list

There is one unit everyone seems to agree is the strength of the Gators

The Florida Gators roster has pros and cons heading into 2025. Depth at defensive tackle and safety are major concerns, while most people would agree that linebacker and quarterback are a strength of the team.

However, there is one unit that is perhaps the strongest unit from top to bottom on the team, and it was surprisingly left out of being one of the top units in the country.

Florida's running backs are the strength of the team in 2025

Pro Football Focus put out a list of the ten best running back rooms in the country, but somehow, the Gators did not make the cut.

Florida may not have the "star power" that some other schools have, but they also have a room so deep that Florida isn't dependent on one guy to be the hero.

Jadan Baugh headlines the group after amassing 670 yards off 133 carries in 2024. He proved his hype from the spring game wasn't a mirage and stepped up once injuries started to creep in to carry the load.

Ja'Kobi Jackson had seven touchdowns last year and over 500 yards with an average of 5.3 yards per carry. He might be one of the more under-the-radar running backs in the country.

Behind them is Treyaun Webb, who was a starter at the beginning of the year before his season ended due to injury. Webb is a former four-star who still has a high ceiling to him if he gets an extended chance.

Then don't forget about KD Daniels, who had a monster senior season in high school to shoot up the rankings. He was buried on the depth chart for his freshman campaign, but in the three games he played in, he still averaged 4.7 yards per carry.

The running back room for Florida is so deep that, as of now, the 5th string running back on the roster is true freshman Duke Clark, who ran a 10.77-second 100-meter dash while in high school.

Sleep on this unit if you must; just don't be surprised when they become a walking giant.
