With Jon Sumrall and Florida hosting a massive recruiting weekend, it's safe to say that countless eyes are on 5-star wide receiver Easton Royal, plus 5-star defensive lineman Jalen Brewster. With the former, there's been plenty of buzz that Royal could be on flip watch, as he continues to hype the Gators up.

Florida is trying to flip a 4-star corner who was once destined for Missouri

While nothing is expected to go down imminently, it's hard to ignore just how much Royal has loved his time in Gainesville. Sumrall is putting in serious work to get this done, which included the electric wideout posing with the Heisman Trophy during a photo shoot. This was no question a brilliant move on Florida's part, as the Gators made it clear they think the wideout can be a huge playmaker for them moving forward:

Florida fans are dreaming of 5-star WR Easton Royal flipping from Texas to Florida

From our chair, Royal looks pretty dang good in a Florida jersey, but for now, his future remains in Austin. He's been committed to Steve Sarkisian and the Longhorns for a little while, though several teams are going all-in to get him to change his mind. The 5-11, 200-pounder has also been hearing from Lane Kiffin quite a bit, which is no surprise.

With Royal being a standout for Brother Martin High in Louisiana, Kiffin is on the grind trying to get the speedster to play his college ball closer to home. Royal shared some pretty epic photos from his recent Baton Rouge visit, which also had Tigers supporters dreaming of him changing his Texas verbal pledge for an LSU one.

However, that didn't happen, and it's now Sumrall who is working to impress the 2027 playmaker. The same can be said for Brewster, as the two are no question the highest-rated guys still left on Florida's board. According to the 247Sports Composite, Royal is the No. 1 WR in the country, and No. 6 prospect overall for the '27 haul.

He's got more than 30 offers to his name, with official visits to LSU and Florida already taking place. Come June 19, he'll be making his way to Texas for yet another OV, and it truly could end up being a game-changer in terms of his recruitment. There's now going to be pressure on Sark to make sure he knocks things out of the park with Royal making his way to campus.

Both LSU and Florida have set the bar quite high with those respective official visits, meaning Texas must match them and more. It's clear that Royal is not 100 percent committed with Texas, as both the Tigers and Gators have given him a lot to think about. Sumrall and Florida are selling him on being a superstar in Gainesville, while also helping the program get things back to a level die-hard fans are waiting for. All of that could be too much for Royal to turn down, but we're all going to be in wait-and-see mode moving forward to see what his final call will be.
