Florida is trying to flip a four-star corner who had looked destined for Missouri

The headlines this weekend for Florida have been all about fellow five-stars Easton Royal and Jalen Brewster on their official visits to Gainesville. Both have seemingly had a great time on their visits, but both remain complete wildcards in terms of whether Florida can get them to flip.

A bit under the radar is a defensive back also on his official visit, who has seemingly been earmarked for Missouri but might just be making his way to Florida if Jon Sumrall plays his cards right.

Raheem Floyd makes his official visit to Florida

Raheem Floyd is a cornerback out of East St. Louis on the Illinois side of the border. Listed at 6’2” and 170 pounds on 247, he is a four-star with 247 and ESPN, while Rivals has him as a three-star. In fact, ESPN has him as a top 100 overall prospect.

Floyd does not play like someone who is “just” 170 pounds, as his calling card on film is being a bruiser and playing like someone who could almost pass as a high school linebacker if you didn’t know any better. There aren’t a ton of clips from his 2025 season, so it is tough to evaluate his “ball skills,” but considering one of the critiques on Florida’s secondary from the Billy Napier Era was the passiveness when it came time to make a tackle, Floyd will not have that problem when he reaches the next level.

Floyd took his official visit to Missouri last week, and he is on his visit with Florida this week. The Rivals RPM has Missouri at 95%, but insider reports indicate that Florida is trying to make a hard charge this weekend. It wouldn’t be shocking, given Jon Sumrall’s personality, to see Floyd mesh better with Sumrall than with Missouri coach Eli Drinkwitz.

Indiana and Ole Miss are also hanging around the picture, but the belief is that Florida would be the one team that could get Floyd to back away from Missouri.

The Gators currently have 23 commits for the class of 2027. Within the secondary, the most notable commits are top 200 overall prospects Aamaury Fountain and Amare Nugent.
