Hailing from Fort Myers, defensive lineman Kendall Guervil brings an imposing frame at 6'4 ", 315 pounds. A consensus four-star prospect in the 2026 class, he holds top-100 status nationally, with 247Sports ranking him the highest at No. 77 overall.

Guervil's blend of size and upside makes him a highly appealing recruit, and considering Florida's current depth concerns, he could be one of the Gators' most crucial targets in this cycle.

Florida Gators trying to land Kendall Guervil

We highlighted Guervil a couple of weeks ago when he was set to take his visit with the Gators, and at the time, he seemed to be in good shape to stay in Gainesville.

We noted his importance to the roster, and we said:

"On film, it's easy to see why Guervil is rated as high as he is. He can play inside or outside, and either way, he seldom gets stopped. Teams try to double-team him, and that doesn't seem to work either.

His first step burst would need to be a touch better if he was trying to crack the top 50 nationally, but he is going to walk onto someone's campus next year with the size to be immediately plugged into a Power Four defensive line and not look out of place."

Guervil has dropped his final three, and he plans to announce on July 2. Florida is a finalist with FSU and Texas.

The problem is that after his official visit to Texas, the Longhorns are now considered the clear front runners to land Guervil. Both On3 and 247 have logged multiple predictions for the Guervil to leave Florida and head for Texas.

Florida has shot up the rankings in the last month, but defensive tackle is still a soft spot on the roster. The Gators do have JaReylan McCoy, whose rankings are all over the map, committed for the class of 2026. They also have Jamir Perez, but Florida is going to have to fend off Ohio State's attempts to flip him.
