The party hasn't stopped in Gainesville, and the Florida Gators just picked up the commitment of DL JaReylan McCoy. He becomes the third player to verbally commit to Florida in the last 24 hours as the Gators are surging up the recruiting rankings.

McCoy has had quite the recruiting journey to this point, and there are mixed reviews in terms of how good he will be.

But if he hits his ceiling and sticks with Florida, the Gators just landed one of the premier teams in the country.

JaReylan McCoy commits to the Florida Gators

What's notable for McCoy is that his star rankings are all over the place. On3 and Rivals have him as a middle-tier four-star.

Meanwhile, ESPN has him as a five-star as the 9th best player in the country, while 247 rates him as a three-star.

When we profiled McCoy a couple of weeks ago, we noted his size pops off film right away. Listed at 6'6" and 245 pounds, McCoy has SEC-ready size as it is.

We also noted Andrew Ivins of 247's review of McCoy and why he has him as a three-star:

"There are too many times when he gets washed away at the point of attack. Should be viewed as a developmental prospect that's going to need to get in the squat rack and buy into the process, but one with a higher ceiling given the frame and lateral movement skills."

McCoy has also taken an interesting road to commit to Florida. Back in January, he had a final three of LSU, Tennessee, and Southern California before committing to the Tigers.

He backed off that commitment a month later and had a new final three of Florida, Ole Miss, and Texas.

He visited Florida on June 1, but his commitment today comes as a bit of a surprise since he wasn't expected to commit until July verbally.

Florida is now up to ten verbal commits and is up to 28th in the 247 Team Rankings and 13th in the On3 Team Rankings.
