With the transfer portal set to officially open for business on Friday, a flurry of Gators announced their plans for 2026. Dallas Wilson and Bryce Thornton will be coming back, while Treyaun Webb and Evan Noel will be hitting the portal.
There is still one big fish out there that hasn’t been resolved, but one has to wonder whether the departure of Webb, in particular, signals some good news set to drop in the near future.
Treyaun Webb to hit the transfer portal
Running back Treyaun Webb is going to hit the transfer portal. Webb is a legacy Gator who was part of the class of 2023, but just never could stay healthy to get an opportunity. After 26 carries as a true freshman in 2023, he was set up to be the backup running back in 2024 and had eight carries for 41 yards against Mississippi State that season.
But that was the last game Webb would make an appearance in, as he got hurt in that game and eventually had surgery for a fractured tibia. Webb then had hamstring surgery prior to the 2025 season, and he didn’t appear in a single game.
Webb is the second Florida running back to announce plans to hit the transfer portal, joining KD Daniels.
But there is another question that lingers with the departure of Webb:
Does this mean that Jadan Baugh will be coming back?
Because if one wants to put on their tin foil hat, if Baugh was leaving the why would Webb leave too? If Baugh were to leave, it would create a clear pathway for Webb to split RB1 snaps if he could stay healthy.
It’s also possible Jon Sumrall had no interest in Webb one way or the other, and his plan B if Baugh leaves is to find someone in the transfer portal. But until we get official news on Baugh, it's notable that a legacy Gator is set to leave.
