The wide receiver room for Florida has been hit with an array of players announcing their intention to transfer. In particular, Aidan Mizell and Eugen Wilson III have announced they will not be playing for the Gators in 2026.
But after Vernell Brown III announced he would be coming back to Gainesville, all eyes turned towards Dallas Wilson. And even though confidence was high that Wilson would return, no official announcement had been made, which is now the standard in college football.
Well, just on the eve of the ball dropping in New York City, Wilson announced he would be coming back to play for the Gators in 2026.

He is one of the legit parting gifts that the Billy Napier Era is giving Jon Sumrall, and he instantly creates the potential for a top-tier recieving duo for Florida, even if the Gators are stagnant in the transfer portal. Wilson originally signed with Oregon on Signing Day, but he had a change of heart and ended up getting released from his commitment to Oregon, and he signed with the Gators as part of the class of 2025.
The five-star prospect made an immediate impact when he balled out in the spring game, when he had 10 catches for 195 yards.
But then in fall camp, he got hurt, and he missed the first four games of the season as Florida started 1-3.
He then returned after the bye week and is arguably the reason why Texas isn’t in the playoffs. He had six catches for 112 yards and two touchdowns to help lead Florida’s upset over the Longhorns. But just as soon as he returned, Wilson got hurt against Georgia and was done for the year after playing in just four games.
It goes without saying that the narrative that will surround Wilson for 2026 is whether or not he can stay healthy. But if he does, Wilson, paired with Brown III, has the ceiling to give Florida one of the best receiving duos in the SEC next season.
