During his time with the Florida Gators, running back Treyaun Webb has been waiting in the wings for a significant role, but has faced some unfortunate setbacks. Last year Webb was in line to be RB2 for the Gators, but had a fractured tibia against Mississippi State and had to miss the bulk of 2024.

As 2025 starts to ramp up, Webb once again is in line for an increased role. And unfortunately, once again, an injury has altered his timeline with the Gators.

Treyaun Webb has surgery on his hamstring

Graham Hall of Swamp247 has reported that Webb has had surgery to fix a muscle rupture in his right hamstring. It is believed that Webb is going to miss some time, but not a "significant" amount of time.

The setback for Webb comes at a time when he was expected to fight for position within Florida's deep running back room. On paper, he was going to be slotted to be RB3, but since Billy Napier tends to go deeper in his running back rotation, he was still going to get a decent chunk of carries.

Webb had 21 carries last season for 93 yards and a touchdown before we went down for the season. This was after getting 26 carries for 163 yards and two touchdowns during the 2023 season.

Webb is the cousin of former Gator Dee Webb and came to Florida as part of the class of 2023 as a four-star prospect and came to Gainesville as a multi-faceted back who could bowl you over but who could also bounce outside and around the edge.

In Webb's absence, expect KD Daniels to step up and have his name start to float around more. Daniels was a higher-rated four-star in the class of 2024 who appeared in three games during the 2024 campaign.
