Florida commit reclassifies from 2027 and will join Gators for fall camp

One of the more intriguing prospects in Florida’s class of 2027 was defensive lineman Stive-Bentley Keumajou Yondui out of Coral Gables by way of England. Keumajou Yondui is listed as a three-star prospect, but fits the bill of an athlete who is still learning the game of football.

According to both Swamp247 and Gators Online, Keumajou Yondui is reclassifying to be a class of 2026 prospect. This means he is now done with high school and is set to enroll at Florida ahead of fall camp, and that he will be on the roster for this upcoming season.

Stive-Bentley Keumajou Yondui will join Florida one year early

We have profiled Keumajou Yondui a couple of times since his commitment to Florida. Back in May, he posted a video of himself hitting a 340-pound bench press with room to spare. We noted that once he got involved with a college strength program, it wasn’t hard to envision him hitting a 380-pound bench press and beyond once he got to Gainesville.

When we first profiled him and looked at his film, we said at the time that:

“He moves well for someone of his size, and it is more so just his technical abilities that have prevented him from moving into the four-star range. But Florida has been high on Keumajou because he is still so new to football, and he only moved to America last year.”

Why Florida is intrigued by Keumajou Yondui’s potential

Part of what makes him fascinating too is that he has a background playing soccer and basketball. Andrew Ivins of 247 Sports has also commented on the high upside potential of Keumajou Yondui and said he has a chance to be a “difference maker” if he starts to get his technique down.

Given the makeup of Florida’s roster, it’s doubtful he will get any meaningful snaps in 2026 and instead will spend the year as a way to speed up his size and development. Along the interior of Florida’s defensive line, the Gators will have Jeremiah McCloud, Brendan Bett, Jamari Lyons, Joseph Mbatchou, and DK Kalu as their main options in the rotation.

Florida also has class of 2026 freshmen Kendall Guervil and JaReylan McCoy joining the squad this season.

For what it's worth, Florida’s class of 2027 now has 25 commits, four of which are defensive linemen: four-star Cahron Wheeler and three-stars Zahmar Tookes, Cain Van Norden and De'Voun Kendrick.
