The wide receiver room is expected to be a strength for the Florida Gators, but they could be even stronger than we imagined.
Dallas Wilson is healthy again, which gives offensive coordinator Buster Faulkner a legitimate No. 1 in-house with true high-level upside and an NFL future. Vernell Brown III stepped up as a freshman in Wilson's absence and transfer acquisition Micah Mays is a guy that can move the chains and settle in as a WR3 or WR4.
But Eric Singleton might be the one that brings it all together in 2026 and Aaron Philo is already seeing signs of that.

Eric Singleton turns Florida's WR room from good to potentially great
Singleton has been a great player in college football for a while. In his three years split between Georgia Tech and Auburn, he has over 160 catches for over 2,000 yards and 12 touchdowns. Singleton has always been a problem for opposing defenses, and he shined as a sophomore at Tech when he hauled in 56 passes for 754 yards and added another 131 yards rushing. All together, Singleton has averaged 11.1 yards per touch over his career.
And I don't think he's hit his upside yet, but he can in Gainesville. He had his best seasons in a Faulkner-run offense, and he'll likely be playing with a quarterback in Philo who has two years of learning the scheme.

He also comes into Gainesville with a chip on his shoulder. In a normal year, Singleton probably would have been the top receiver in the portal based on his past production. But he was on the same team with Cam Coleman last year and when Coleman decided to enter the portal, all the attention went that way.
"I think all the guys in that receiver room... [have] really pushed him to be the best that he can be," Philo added. "He's not afraid of competition. He comes in every day and works his butt off. I'm really excited for him and what he's going to be able to do this season."
There will be a lot of moving parts in the Gators offense, and it should be exciting to watch these talented pieces come together. The big plays will come in bunches and Singleton is going to be in the middle of it all.
