Fred Taylor

Taylor leapfrogs two guys ahead of him on the all-time list to earn a spot on Florida’s Mount Rushmore of running backs.

Taylor played all four years in Gainesville and currently sits 5th on the all-time list with 3,075 yards rushing.

So why does Taylor get the nod over Graham and Anderson?

He did more with less.

Of the seven Gators with at least 500 rushing attempts, Taylor has the highest career yards per carry with 5.7.

Also, among the top 10 running backs in career carries, Taylor sits second in career receiving yards with 717.

Taylor’s senior year in 1997, he complied 1,292 yards rushing off a just 214 carries for an average of 6.0 yards per carry.

Taylor was drafted in the first round by the Jacksonville Jaguars.
