Florida Football: Mount Rushmore of running backs
Percy Harvin
During our list of the greatest Florida wide receivers, we made note that Harvin was difficult to classify for position purposes.
One source listed him as a WR while ESPN’s roster from 2008 lists Harvin as a RB.
The Florida football roster from 2008 officially lists Harvin as a RB/WR.
For the purpose of this list, we are counting Harvin as a running back simply because he finished his career with more rushing attempts than he did catches.
Either way, Harvin was a cheat code during his three years in Gainesville.
Basic plays turned into instant touchdowns.
Harvin rushed for 1.852 career yards off of just 194 carries for an average of 9.5 yards per carry.
Harvin also chipped in with 133 career catches for 1,929 yards, and average of 14.5 yards per catch.
It really hard to quantify how electric Harvin was for Florida and while it may come at the expense of two other very talented backs, Harvin deserves a spot on Florida’s Mount Rushmore.
He finished his career with more total yards from scrimmage (3,781) in three years than Anderson (3,759) and Graham (3,487) did in four years.
