Florida Football Welcomes Transfer Wide Receiver for Visit
The transfer portal has become a key source of talent for teams over the last couple of years, and Florida has another opportunity to add a talented wide receiver through it. Florida football welcomes transfer wide receiver Ricky Pearsall, this week, according to Jacob Rudner of 247sports.
Pearsall, out of high school, wasn’t highly recruited as he was a 3-star recruit with offers from Arizona State, Air Force, Hawaii, Idaho, New Mexico State, Northern Arizona, and UC Davis, according to 247sports.com. Pearsall is a 6’1″, 200-pound wide receiver who committed to the Sun Devils in 2018. Pearsall will be a senior next season
Head coach Billy Napier stated earlier this spring that he will look to add depth to a roster that is in desperate need of it via the portal, so this comes as no surprise. Napier has already been working in the transfer portal bringing in players such as quarterback Jack Miller and running back Montrell Johnson. Coach Napier has completed the spring with his new team and now knows what he wants to add to the roster and what they need after the spring game.
Ricky Pearsall is a dynamic player that Arizona State was able to utilize in several ways. He completed two passes last season while also having six rushes for 44 yards. Pearsall could turn into an elite wide receiver in the right environment. He can make guys miss and turn short passes into big plays.
Whenever you get the chance to add a good playmaker, you jump at the opportunity. Ricky Pearsall will allow Coach Napier to get creative with his playbook and give whoever takes the snaps at quarterback a wide receiver with a lot of potential.
