3 things to watch for in the Gators’ spring game

With roughly 72 hours until the Florida Gators’ first Spring game under first-year head coach Billy Napier, I wanted to give a little insight on what Gator fans should be watching out for. This is a Florida team coming off a 6-7 season (2-6 in SEC play) where the realistic expectations are to improve from last year’s result and show promise. That challenge could end up being more difficult than many think.

The Gators will open up their season with a Utah team that finished the 2021 season at 10-4, a team that will be a tough challenge as they are returning 16 of their 22 starters. The annual games of LSU, Kentucky, and Georgia will obviously all be toss-ups. You can also add the away game at Texas A&M, a team that just signed the #1 class in the nation according to 247sports.

Florida’s schedule will continue to prove that the SEC is an absolute gauntlet and the team will need to show improvement in various key areas. With that being said, I wanted to point out a few things to watch for come Thursday night that would elevate expectations for the Gators in 2022.
