Florida football: Here’s 5 opponents we’d like to see for the Gators

2. Southern Cal, Pac-12

This would be interesting because of the fact these teams would have to log some serious travel time.

That said, I think this would have a lot of national interest because of the distance.

Florida football has played Southern Cal twice and is 1-0-1 against them. The issue is the last time they played each other was in 1983 when the teams tied 19-19 in a non-conference game.

When both teams were in their prime, this would be a great game. Nowadays, with the state of the Pac-12, this game would be a disaster, no matter where it was played.

The gate, on the other hand, would likely be pretty big for both schools.

But, I like this game because of the storied history of both programs. I think it would spark an interesting coast-to-coast rivalry.

Will it happen: I would say this has a more realistic chance of happening than a Clemson-Florida home-and-home. That said, I doubt either team would commit to the travel.
