3. Nebraska, Big Ten

Someone on Twitter suggested this and I kind of did that dog head tilt at first.

Then, I thought about it.

What would it be like to play in Lincoln in late September or even in November? Coming from Kansas, I can tell you … miserable.

But, that is the allure of it. You have a team like Florida football who is used to playing in the warmth of the South, suddenly has to change its game around to accommodate for the cooler temperatures of Nebraska.

Then, you have that vice-versa when the Cornhuskers came to Gainesville.

Florida football has played Nebraska twice and lost both games to them. But they haven’t played since 1995 — a 62-25 drubbing in the Fiesta Bowl.

The gate for this would likely be pretty high in Lincoln (only because there isn’t much else do to there on a Saturday during football season. However, I don’t know if Gator Nation gets excited about this one.

Will it happen: I could certainly see Stricklin pull this one out of his hat, but I don’t know that I see a real upside for either program.
