There couldn’t be a bad moment in Florida football history without mentioning the Zooker.

Oh, Ron Zook.

In 2003, the Gators had their game at Miami in hand until Florida and the Zooker mounted a monumental collapse.

The Gators jumped out to a 26-10 lead in the third quarter after DeShawn Wynn rattled off a 65-yard touchdown run. They increased it when Ran Carthon ran in a touchdown late in the quarter.

It seemed like Florida would avenge the 41-16 thrashing the Hurricanes gave them in Gainesville the season before.

After Carthon’s touchdown run, Miami scored three unanswered touchdowns as the Florida offense would have done better if they weren’t on the field at all.

But, the Gators still held a 33-32 lead in the fourth.

Florida’s offense continued to be anemic and the Hurricanes capitalized with a touchdown to take the lead with 1 minute, 44 seconds left.

After Ingle Martin was knocked out with a concussion, Chris Leak came in at quarterback. Leak had his shot to win the game, but his fade pass to Dallas Baker was intercepted, preserving the win for the Hurricanes.

Oh, thanks a lot Brock Berlin. Don’t think we are going to forget what you did either. I just didn’t feel like making a big mention of him in this piece.
