Four touchdowns and 124 yards on the ground.

That is what Georgia running back Robert Edwards had against Florida in 1997.

The Gators were defending national champs, but a stinging loss at LSU a few weeks before left Florida looking for more.

Of course, the primary reason for the loss at LSU: Four interceptions by Gator quarterback Doug Johnson.

Florida had a chance to continue their winning streak against the Bulldogs and head into the SEC title game, but it was not meant to be.

It’s important to note the Gators held a 17-14 lead in the second half, but Georgia scored 23 straight thanks in no small part to Edwards.

Of course, Florida had no consistency at quarterback as they had four interceptions (sound familiar?) between Johnson, Jesse Palmer and Noah Brindise.

The 37-17 loss was the worst regular-season loss for the Gators since 1992 and they were knocked out of the race for the SEC title game.
