4. Duke Dawson

In the game against Tennessee, it was pretty obvious who Vols QB Josh Dobbs felt was Florida’s weakest DB and that was Duke Dawson. The 5’11”, 202-lb, junior was picked on multiple times by Dobbs and every time it seemed to translate into big gains for Tennessee.

Dawson’s biggest gaffe came on Vols WR Josh Malone’s 42-yard touchdown, which put Tennessee up 31-21. Malone ran a simple slant route and burnt Dawson over the middle and took it to the house.

It seems to me that Duke needs to make some serious improvement in his coverage technique because he doesn’t exactly have quick instincts when it comes to jumping routes.

Look for him to hopefully have a rebound performance this Saturday.
