Running Backs

Kelvin Taylor, Junior

Adam Lane, RS Sophomore

Is there any surprise here who will start at RB for the Gators?

Taylor has the most game-experience out of Florida’s backs (227 career carries, 1,073 rushing yards) and being he is the son of former Gators great Fred Taylor, he also has the football genes to go along with his numbers.

One thing to watch is if Taylor can step into the role as the Gators featured back and carry the load of the offense.

The Gators ranked 43rd in the country last year in rushing yards per game (187.7) so look for McElwain to try to build off that success again in 2015 with Taylor.

Defenses will definitely be keying-in on stopping Taylor as the Gators number one offensive option but if Taylor holds up health-wise, I fully expect him to have a major impact on the offense.

Lane should serve as Florida’s primary second back and while he may not have the experience Taylor does (24 carries, 181 yards), he possesses those quick-twitch cuts and runs that will help bring some dynamite to the Gators offense.
