It’s hard to believe that after only two years of playing for the Gators, cornerback Vernon Hargreaves III is already one of the more decorated defensive backs in UF history.

The 5’11, 195 pound Tampa native started for the Gators as a true freshman and performed admirably right away.

A consensus first-team All-American in 2013, Hargreaves impressed with 38 tackles and tied the school record with 11 pass breakups.

Hargreaves earned his second All-SEC nomination in 2014 when he made 50 more tackles and had another three interceptions.

Already being declared the best defensive back in the nation, Hargreaves has very little deficiencies in his game and will only get better in presumably his final season at Florida.

If Hargreaves puts together yet another spectacular season, we could be saying goodbye to the best cornerback to ever play for the Gators.
