The one thing you have to appreciate about Jelani Jenkins’ time at Florida is that he was remarkably consistent, productive and healthy.

After redshirting in 2009, Jenkins started 31 games in his next three seasons at Florida. Jenkins had 182 tackles and six sacks between starting at both MLB and OLB.

Jenkins had a penchant for making crucial plays. In 2011, Jenkins snagged an interception and took it back for a 75-yard touchdown.

In 2012, Jenkins blocked a punt and returned that for a 36-yard touchdown against UL-Lafayette, giving the Gators the lead in the fourth quarter with only two seconds left.

Jenkins was selected in the fourth round of the 2013 NFL Draft by the in-state Miami Dolphins and started 14 games for them in 2014, racking up 110 tackles in the process.
