During his one year with the Florida Gators, Trikweze Bridges morphed into one of the unsung key cogs of the defense that wound up being the backbone of Florida's four-game winning streak to close out 2024.

Despite not being invited to the NFL Combine, Bridges turned a strong Pro Day into being drafted by the Los Angeles Chargers. But like any rookie going through their first NFL training camp, Bridges has been experiencing the highs and lows of NFL life.

Trikweze Bridges has a highlight interception in training camp

Based on reports, the first few days of camp didn't go great for Bridges. He was getting burned on routes over the top, and even when he had someone in front of him, he struggled to even come close to making a tackle.

But Bridges was able to rebound and had a viral interception and later followed it up with a PBU.

Chargers writer took note of his improvement, and even Derwin James made sure to give Bridges props earlier this week.

Bridges came to Florida via the transfer portal from Oregon and had one of the more interesting seasons for the Gators. After minimal snaps during Florida's first three games, he saw a huge uptick in snaps starting with the Mississippi State game.

What stood out with Bridges was his willingness to come downhill and make tackles in a way the other safeties for Florida weren't doing at the time.

But after the Georgia game, due to injuries with the rest of Florida's secondary, Bridges switched over from safety to cornerback. He had a PBU in each of the games against LSU, Ole Miss, and FSU, and he had an interception against Tulane.

Bridges ran a 4.45-second 40-yard dash at Florida's Pro Day, which helped give him this chance with the Chargers.
