The NFL Draft wrapped up with seven Gators getting selected, one in each round. It’s somewhat of a minor miracle considering Florida was coming off a 4-8 season, but it also highlights the talent that has existed in Gainesville over the years.
Looking ahead to the 2027 NFL Draft, Florida won’t actually have that many contenders to get drafted. Of their potential starting lineup as of now, just 13 of their potential 22 starters will actually be draft eligible for 2027, with just five being outright seniors.
With that in mind, these are the four Gators we feel have the best shot of having their name called at the 2027 NFL Draft.
Jadan Baugh is Florida’s best chance for the 2027 NFL Draft
It’s not a secret that Jadan Baugh is probably Florida’s most NFL-ready player, and one could have made a case for him to enter the draft this past year had he been eligible to do so. Baugh still has one more year before he becomes draft eligible.
What will be fascinating, depending on how the season goes for Baugh, is whether he opts to come back to Florida for his senior year. In the past, this wouldn’t have even been a question mark, and he would be gone. But in the NIL Era, just like we saw with Thomas Haugh over at Florida Basketball, there are ways to keep guys around.
Eric Singleton
Look no further than Eric Singleton as another example of opting to stay in college versus heading to the draft. After a bit of a down year with Auburn, he probably could have been a decent draft pick this year. But Singleton opted to transfer to Florida for his senior year.
If he returns to the form we saw when he was with Buster Faulkner at Georgia Tech, Singleton could easily play himself into being a Day Two pick next year.
Myles Graham
Myles Graham is going to probably be in the same boat as Baugh, where he could opt to come out if he has a strong season and could get picked up fairly high in the draft. Graham seemingly has the quickness that NFL teams would love, and it’s just a matter of how high his draft stock is going to be after this season.
Bryce Thornton
The trend that was noticeable during this year’s draft was the lack of underclassmen, since most guys stood to make more in NIL than they would as a later round pick. If this trend continues into next year, Senior Bryce Thornton might be someone who actually benefits and could sneak in as a Day Three pick if he finishes out with a solid season.
