Will Richard was the third and final Florida Gator drafted in the 2025 NBA Draft. While most of the focus has been on Walter Clayton Jr. and Alijah Martin, it has been Richard who has ascended the quickest into a starting role in the NBA.

And during Golden State's win on Wednesday against San Antonio, Richard got one of the ultimate compliments from one of the NBA's biggest stars.

Will Richard continues to shine for Golden State

Richard has found himself in the starting lineup for the Warriors and at times has looked like a star. Back on November 5th, he had 30 points against the Kings and was in double digits against the Nuggets and Pacers.

Richard didn't have the biggest statistical game against San Antonio, but after he hit a three, the camera cut to Steph Curry on the bench, who proceeded to hit a Gator Chomp.

Given that Florida legend Al Horford is also on Golden State's roster, Richard has previously said his nickname on the team is Baby Gator.

Walter Clayton Jr. keeps things slow and steady

Clayton Jr. hasn't quite had the same meteoric rise in the NBA, but he has stayed consistent with his role with the Utah Jazz.

He's averaging 16 minutes a night and is averaging 6.2 points per game. His three-point shooting has been a bit down at 34%, but he has also been managing 3.2 assists per game.

That prorates to 7.1 assists per 36 minutes, which is in the top 50 in the NBA.

Utah has shown improvement this season, though they are still just 4-7 on the season.

Alijah Martin off to a strong start in the G-League

Alijah Martin was drafted by the Toronto Raptors in the 2nd round of the NBA Draft, and despite some bright spots in Summer League, he is starting his 2025-26 campaign in the G-League with the Raptors 905.

Three games in, Martin is averaging 18.3 points per game and is shooting 52.9% from three. His plus/minus is also +18.7 per game, and the Raptors have won all three games so far.
