Six key prospects who will be on campus for Florida Football against LSU
One of the sub-narratives for Florida Football this weekend against LSU are the treasure trove of prospects who will be in attendance in The Swamp. Florida's current recruiting class is in dire straights and in need of a shot in the arm to get going.
The following are the five most intriguing prospects who will be on campus this weekend.
Tramell Jones
We profiled Tramell Jones earlier this week as the QB from Mandarin High in Jacksonville, who has backed off his commitment to FSU. All indications are that he will flip to Florida.
The four major services are split on Jones, with Rivals grading him in the top 50 overall, while On3 and 247 have him as a three-star. As we wrote in our profile, we probably would agree with the One and 247 grade, but as Florida has found out this season, it never hurts to have too many QBs on the roster.
Solomon Thomas
One of the massive problems in the Billy Napier Era has been the inability to sign a top-rated offensive lineman. Solomon Thomas, like Jones, has been a longtime FSU commit. Unlike Jones he has yet to back off that commitment.
Thomas is considered a consensus top 50 overall prospect, and we have little disagreement with that rating.
Jamie Ffrench
On paper, there wouldn't seem to be much of a reason for five-star wide receiver Jamie Ffrench to commit to Florida. He is currently committed to Texas, and if he watched the game last week, one would have to think there is minimal chance he flips.
But Ffrench is a high school teammate with the above-mentioned Jones, and if Napier can sell the close-to-home narrative, he could gain traction.
DJ Pickett
Seemingly, the Gators have had minimal traction with the five-star defensive back out of Zephyrhills, and Pickett is committed to LSU.
With the Gators playing LSU on Saturday, this feels like a Hail Mary visit by the Gators more than anything.
Dallas Wilson
Another five-star wide receiver the Gators are hoping to wow with DJ Lagway's arm. The Gators did have Wilson in town back in June, but that has been it.
The Tampa Bay Tech product is committed to Oregon, and there seems to be little traction for him to back off that to come to Florida.
Na’eem Offord
A five-star defensive back out of Birmingham, Na’eem Offord is one of the most coveted players in the country for the class of 2025. The Ohio State commit has been on the radar for Florida, but like others on this list, there has been next-to-traction to get him to flip.
