It's a big weekend for Florida Football as the Gators are hosting a number of top prospects on their official visits.

One of the headliners for the weekend is a Florida State commit who the Gators have been trying to get to flip who a while.

Florida Football: Moving Train

Solomon Thomas is an offensive lineman out of Jacksonville. Listed at 6'4" and 315 pounds, he is a consensus top 50 prospect, with Rivals grading him as the 14th best prospect in the country and On3 having him the lowest at 41st.

On film there is minimal argument about his composite five-star status. Beyond the fact he already has the size to step on a college campus and look like he belongs, Thomas is an absolute road grader on the field. With seemingly minimal effort he is able to pancake his opponents and he has the type of mean streak we love to see in an offensive lineman.

In pass protection he does well to stay fluid and shuttle guys around the outside, allowing his QB to step up in the pocket and escape as needed.

Thomas won the state championship in discus in 2023 and was runner up this past season, an event that requires a bit more athleticism vs the raw power needed for shot put.

He committed to FSU back in December but Billy Napier and crew haven't given up going after Thomas. He made an unofficial visit back in January and is making his official visit to Gainesville this weekend. Thomas also made a visit to LSU last week and still has a visit lined up with FSU in two weeks

Thomas would be a big time flip for the Gators to get, and insiders seem to think this is more than just a courtesy visit. He will be worth keeping an eye on and if Florida thinks they have any shot to get him then he is worth the resources to try and go flip.
