With the addition of Boogie Fland, the Florida Gators are going to enter the 2025/26 season as one of the favorites to win the national title and go back-to-back for the second time in program history.
There is still one significant loose end to clean up, but as of now, this is what looks like a probable starting five for the Gators next season.
Boogie Fland commits to the Florida Gators
The beauty of Fland is that he is going to be interchangeable with Xaivian Lee. Neither has to be the primary ball handler 100% of the time, and Florida's roster will look a bit more fluid with those two on the court.
Compared to Denzel Washington, who transferred away to Kentucky during the offseason, both Fland and Lee are significantly more willing passers and should play off each other well.
Thomas Haugh gets a new role
This is still contingent on one other loose end that needs to be cleaned up, but as of now, Thomas Haugh is slated to play in the 3 spot for 2025/26.
If Haugh can fill this role, and he's going to need to continue to improve his three-point shooting in order for this to work, it would give Florida a starting five that resembles what one would see in an NBA lineup.
Does Alex Condon come back?
The deadline for Alex Condon is getting closer to deciding whether or not he is going to stay NBA Draft or if he will return to Gainesville.
Coming out of the NBA Combine, Condon is viewed by most mock drafts as an early to mid-second round pick. In the age of NIL, it would seem to make sense for Condon to come back for one more year.
If Condon stays in the NBA Draft, then Haugh will fill this role, and Todd Golden will stick with his three-guard, two-big-man approach from last season.
Rueben Chinyelu is back
After exploring the NBA Draft, Rueben Chinyelu withdrew his name and is coming back to Gainesville.
That wasn't much of a surprise, given most mock drafts didn't have him on their boards, but it ensures that Florida will once again have a plethora of size on the inside.
