QB recruiting target for Florida Football set to announce commitment Saturday
Only five players have committed to Florida Football out of the class of 2025. While there are still plenty of high priority targets in play, landing a QB for this cycle was always going to be a challenge. With the presence of DJ Lagway it is unlikely a top tier QB is going to want to come to Gainesville and sit behind him.
It's with that in mind that another target for the Gators is set to make his announcement on Saturday and not to be shocked when he doesn't choose Florida.
Florida Football: King Of The Hill
We profiled Antwan Hill back in March when it seemed like there was some momentum building that he could become a Gator. When we profiled him, we said:
"Hill's ability to stand tall in the pocket is evident and his ability to generate power with just his upper body is outstanding. Even in cases where he doesn't step into a throw he can still chuck it 40+ yards on the money without even trying.
The bulk of his throws on film are vertical routes, but he shows a willingness to check down as needed. He isn't a lethal runner, but he is a willing one who can move the chains."
Hill is set to make is commitment on Saturday with Florida and Memphis as the final two schools. Hill took official visits to both this month, and all the wind seems to be in the sails of Memphis landing Hill. There haven't been any formal predictions submitted from On3 or 247 since May. But with Will Griffin committing for 2026, combined with Florida still pursuing a couple of other QBs, most insiders seem to think the odds of Hill picking the Gators are low.
Hill would be a nice safety net for Florida to have in case something happens to Lagway, but it looks like they will be looking elsewhere barring a surprise.
