One-time Florida Football commit announces he is sitting out the rest of 2024
When Florida Football took on Mississippi State this past Saturday, there was a familiar last name for Gator fans who popped up on the Bulldog roster. Keen fans probably even recognized the player himself and his direct connection with Florida.
Well, that same player was among a string of players around the country who announced they would be sitting out the remainder of the 2024 season.

Creed Whittemore was a four-star receiver in the class of 2023. He committed to Florida in May of 2022 while his brother Trent Whittemore was still on the team.
Trent was somewhat used during the 2021 campaign and had 19 catches. The expectation heading into 2022 was that he would see an increased role, but that never happened. He made four catches during the 2022 season.
Sensing his brother wasn't part of the plans moving forward, Creed flipped to Mississippi State in October of 2022.
Trent has since transferred to UCF, where he has four catches over the past season and a half.
Creed had two catches against Florida on Saturday and looked explosive, but his overall usage has been minimal in 2024. Wanting to preserve a season of eligibility, the one-time Florida commit from Gainesville announced he would be sitting out the rest of the 2024 season and would be transferring.
He joins two other high profile announcements from Wednesday. Matthew Sluka of UNLV made waves nationally when he announced he would be sitting out the rest of the 2024 season due to an NIL dispute. Former five-star defensive tackle Bear Alexander, now at USC, also announced he would be sitting out the rest of the 2024 season due to a displeasure in playing time.
