After a busy 4th of July weekend which saw numerous big name prospect commit, Florida Football has found itself sliding down the recruiting rankings nationally.

Today another big prospect, literally, announced he is going to play in the SEC, just not for the Gators.

Florida Football: Avenue Of Giants

Last month we profiled 6'11" offensive lineman Jahzare Jackson. His backstory is an intriguing one because he hasn't actually played organized football since the 8th grade. Given his height it is of no surprise that Jackson found his way to basketball and was a three-star prospect in hoops out of IMG.

Jackson would eventually make his way to the Overtime Elite league before deciding he wanted to try his hand at football. He started showing up at a number of camps and the reviews he was getting were solid.

He visited Gainesville last month and we posed the question last month as to how many projects Billy Napier was willing to take on for Florida's roster. The Gators have Noel Portnjagin, George Gumbs, and Enoch Wangoy on the roster as it is, all of whom are big bodied linemen who are still raw when it comes to technique and understanding of the game.

As it turns out Jackson will not be coming to Florida as he announced today that he will be committing to Georgia.
