Under Billy Napier, Florida Football has been willing to take on their fair share of projects along the offensive and defensive line. Noel Portnjagin, George Gumbs, and Enoch Wangoy are all big bodied linemen who are extremely raw in their developmental stage when it comes to the game of football.

The Gators appear to be in pursuit of another big lineman who will require refinement before he steps on a football field in a game situation.

Florida Football: Go Big Or Go Home

Jahzare Jackson is an offensive lineman prospect listed at 6'11" and 330 pounds. Jackson never played football in high school as he was a three-star basketball prospect with IMG and later with the Overtime Elite league.

But given his size and given he has mobility from his days playing basketball, there are plenty of teams lining up to recruit Jackson. Mississippi State, Georgia, and FSU are among the schools Jackson has been in serious talks with.

He has no football game film, but but he has looked the part at various camps he has attended.

Jackson has been in Gainesville all weekend for an official visit and reviews appear to be positive. The gambit for Napier and crew is asking themselves how many projects do they want to take on. Taking a chance on these type of guys has merit, but the staff needs to ensure they have proven production to serve as a backup in case the projects don't work out.
