Pat McAfee's prediction spells doom for Billy Napier's time in Gainesville

On College GameDay, talking head Pat McAfee made a prediction for the rest of the Gators' season, and it didn't look pretty for Florida coach Billy Napier.

While they were hundreds of miles away from the Gators, ESPN's College GameDay made sure to bring up the rocky start to Florida's season.

During Week 3 of the Saturday morning kickoff show, talking head Pat McAfee was asked to predict how many wins the Florida Gators will get over the rest of the season. His answer had Gator fans panicking and Florida head coach Billy Napier flying to job boards.

"I see four wins," McAfee said, predicting an abysmal 4-8 finish to the Gators' season, something that would undeniably have Napier out of a job.

After just one loss, to the now-No. 18 USF Bulls, people across the country were calling for Napier's head. If Florida suffers seven more losses, even if they're to some of the top teams in the nation, it will spell ruin for the head coach.

Will Billy Napier get fired this season?

While McAfee's prediction might have been the worst possible scenario for Napier's tenure in Gainesville, it doesn't necessarily mean it will come true.

Just a year ago, Florida fans were hitting the panic button, and Napier pulled off the improbable (or nearly impossible), upsetting Ole Miss and LSU to end up in a bowl game, where the Gators defeated Tulane to finish 8-5 on the season.

McAfee even referenced this incredible turning of fate while predicting how the rest of the year would look for Florida. However, he said that he doesn't see that kind of 180 happening again.

Over the rest of the season, Florida is scheduled to play eight teams that are currently in the Top 25, including the No. 3 LSU Tigers, No. 5 Miami Hurricanes, No. 6 Georgia Bulldogs, No. 7 Texas Longhorns, and No. 10 Florida State Seminoles, just to name a few.

Napier doesn't have a great record against ranked teams (last year excluded), so, truly, McAfee's prediction could come true and the Florida head coach could be searching for a new job by the end of the season, if not sooner.

The unranked Gators and the No. 3 Tigers are scheduled to kick off at 7:30 p.m. ET, and the game will be broadcast on ABC.
